HDMI Repeater and Your Audio and Sound Systems

HDMI Repeater and Your Audio and Sound Systems

Hdmi

Don't you hate when your video drops out? Do you have a long HDMI cable and HDMI repeater between the source and the projector monitor that causes this? HDMI is a High Definition Multimedia Interface and is used for transmitting unprocessed digital data. It is currently the one cable that has the greatest ability to deliver high quality video and audio.

By using this cable, you can send video/audio from a source (DVD, HD box, etc) to a display like a TV or monitor. This cable which connects the two is made up of 19 individual wires forming one cable. This can be used with an HDMI repeater which is connected at the end of the HDMI cable or used to connect two cables together to make a longer HDMI connection.

This type of extension is very flexible with regard to your cable length as two cables can be used. THE HDMI repeater is very effective up to distances of 100 feet. This will work with both HDMI to HDMI and DVI (Digital Video Interface) to HDMI cables.

The repeater will perform best if it is placed at the end of the cable with a short HDMI extension cable to the display. Ideally the extension cable should not be more than 13 feet. There is not much to it: there is an HDMI input and output. There are also status lights to indicate performance.

What's the difference? Why use HDMI? The cable features a bandwidth of 5 gigabytes per second (GBPS) or even more. This provides the speed needed to transmit an HD signal plus with more space leftover. HDMI transmits a pure, uncompressed digital signal. While other connections use a digital-to-analog conversion and this can downgrade the picture quality.

Not like other video connections, HDMI includes audio, eliminating the need for separate audio cables. HDMI delivers the best high definition picture and highest quality sound and doing away with excess cables.

If you are planning to buy a high definition television and also subscribe to HD programming, HDMI is a very good choice fro connecting your components together and guaranteeing the highest quality video and sound. When considering to get a new television set, take into consideration how many sources you will be connecting using HDMI (cable, DVD, Blu-ray, gaming system, etc) and make sure it has a suitable number of HDMI inputs.

HDMI is a recognized technology, there are slight variations of HDMI such as HDMI 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3. There are some sub-versions as well. Before deciding, read more about the specific features and differences. Being well informed about the pros and cons and different specifications will prove worthwhile when you enjoy your new audio-visual experience in high definition.

Surround Sound Systems - How to Hook Up Surround Sound for your home theater system

Surround Sound Systems - How to Hook Up Surround Sound for your home theater system

Hdmi

If you really want to experience the thrill of watching a movie in your own four walls, then you have a surround sound system.

You may have heard the big screen in the room, but if you are not able to listen to the soundtrack at its best, then you're missing half the fun!

However, many people believe that installing a surround sound system is too complicated - and that is too complicated for their capture.

Well, not so difficult - the following points toUnderstand what you need to get your surround sound setup.

1 Decide what you want surround sound setup.

Most modern DVD to come with a 5.1 surround sound track - so a 5.1 speaker setup, the speaker system the most common are the people. This system consists of six speakers - center speaker, front left and right, surround left and right speakers and a subwoofer (for bass). However, other configration common are 7.1 and 7.2 surround sound speaker systems.

Buy an AV 2Receiver / amplifier and speaker package - or a theater-in-a-box at home.

The AV receiver is the amplifier for the speakers - and the processor for 5.1 surround soundtrack. You must buy a separate plug in 5.1 surround sound receiver speaker package - and probably the speaker cables. The main advantage of an AV receiver that connect to various external devices - such as DVD players, Blu-ray, the cable TV box, DVD recorders, etc.

AHome Theater-in-a-box (HTIB) will be available with the amplifier, speakers and all cables in one package - and often have an integrated DVD / Blu-ray too. However, there is often little space for connecting other devices of this type of system.

3 Connect the system together.
Connect the speakers to the speaker outputs on the AV receiver with the speaker cable. Be sure to connect the center speaker output for the center speaker, front left to frontLeft speaker output, etc. Connect the HDMI output on the first DVD player to HDMI input on your receiver. This sends the image to DVD and audio receiver. Connect the HDMI output on the AV receiver for the first connection (perhaps only) TV's HDMI. Use the AV receiver to send them to the picture on the TV screen. Do the automatic speaker setup for the AV receiver (most have this). This sends a test signal to the speakers and a good balance.
4 Playthe movie!

5 How it works

If you press play on your DVD player, video and audio signals to your AV receiver for the HDMI cable - make sure you select the correct input on the AV receiver and is receiving the signal. The AV receiver then sends the image on the TV - make sure you select the correct input on the TV (the TV can pass the correct input when it receives the signal). The AV receiver also sends the audio to the speakers. Should automaticallyget the 5.1 mix on the DVD and send it off the surround speakers.
Summary

So there we have it, a short list of what you need to buy to get a surround sound system at home - and how to connect everything together. If you need more information about this process, then follow the link below.

Have fun!
